1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking a trip or using any service provided by Life in Misool (“we,” “us,” “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with a booking.
2. Bookings & Payment
- All bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit (communicated at the time of booking).
- Full payment is due no later than 14 days before the trip departure date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Prices are quoted in USD and are subject to change until a deposit has been received.
3. Cancellation Policy
- More than 60 days before departure: Full deposit refund, minus bank transfer fees.
- 30–60 days before departure: 50% of the total trip cost is non-refundable.
- Fewer than 30 days before departure: 100% of the total trip cost is non-refundable.
- We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation.
4. Changes to Bookings
Date changes requested more than 60 days before departure are subject to availability and an administration fee. Changes requested within 60 days are treated as a cancellation and re-booking.
5. Force Majeure & Weather
Raja Ampat is subject to variable sea and weather conditions. Life in Misool reserves the right to alter, postpone, or cancel itineraries at any time for reasons of safety, including but not limited to adverse weather, rough seas, or equipment issues. In such cases:
- We will make every effort to offer an alternative date or itinerary of equivalent value.
- Where an alternative is not possible, a credit note valid for 18 months will be issued.
- Cash refunds for force majeure cancellations are at our discretion.
6. Health & Safety
- Guests must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations relevant to diving or water activities prior to booking.
- Diving activities require a valid certification (PADI Open Water or equivalent) unless a guided beginner experience is explicitly booked.
- Life in Misool reserves the right to refuse participation to any guest deemed unfit for an activity on safety grounds, without refund.
- Travel and dive insurance covering medical evacuation is strongly recommended for all guests.
7. Limitation of Liability
Life in Misool acts as a tour operator and guide service. While we take every precaution to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests, we are not liable for:
- Loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings.
- Illness, injury, or death arising from activities undertaken voluntarily by guests.
- Delays or cancellations caused by third-party operators (flights, ferries, accommodation).
- Events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
8. Conduct
Guests are expected to respect the natural environment of Raja Ampat, local customs, and fellow travellers. Life in Misool reserves the right to remove any guest from a trip — without refund — whose behaviour is deemed harmful to the environment, safety, or enjoyment of others.
9. Environmental Responsibility
All guests agree to adhere to our no-touch reef policy, no single-use plastics onboard policy, and responsible wildlife interaction guidelines. Life in Misool is committed to low-impact tourism in one of the world’s most biodiverse marine environments.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any disputes shall be resolved in good faith; failing that, through the courts of West Papua Province, Indonesia.
